SINAPSE is a non-profit association (förening) registered under Swedish law. We are the data controller responsible for the personal data processed through this website and during the membership application process.

When you apply for membership, contact us, or participate in SINAPSE activities, we may collect: -Name -Email address -Professional title and institutional affiliation -Areas of expertise and professional interests -Any additional information you voluntarily provide We only collect data that is relevant for the activities of the association.
We process your personal data for the following purposes:
-To process and manage membership applications
-To manage your membership in SINAPSE
-To communicate about events, initiatives, and network activities
-To enable collaboration and networking between members (when relevant)
-To comply with legal obligations applicable to Swedish associations
We process your data based on: your consent (e.g. communications and membership registration) our legitimate interest in operating and developing the SINAPSE network legal obligations under applicable Swedish law
We keep your personal data for as long as you are an active member of SINAPSE. If you leave SINAPSE or request deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, unless we are required to retain certain information for legal obligations. Financial records related to membership fees are retained for seven years in accordance with Swedish accounting law and requirements from Skatteverket.
We do not sell your data and we never share it for commercial purposes. We may share your data only with: Service providers (data processors) who support the operation of SINAPSE (e.g. email services, website hosting, cloud storage), under
Other SINAPSE members, but only your name, title and affiliation and only if you have not opted out of being included in the member directory Public authorities, if required by law Member directory visibility is optional and can be disabled at any time.
