SINAPSE will be represented at the workshop “The Einstein Telescope Project and Beyond: Science and Technology for Future Gravitational Wave Detectors”, taking place at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm on May 4–5, 2026.
The event, co-organised by KTH and the Italian Embassy in Sweden, brings together leading researchers and institutional stakeholders involved in the European Einstein Telescope project. It focuses on advancing the science and technology of gravitational-wave detection, with the aim of accelerating developments relevant to next-generation observatories such as the Einstein Telescope (ET) and complementary low-frequency initiatives.
The workshop also highlights the strategic importance of the Einstein Telescope for Europe’s future research and innovation landscape.
The initiative provides an important platform to underline Italy’s role in the development of large-scale European research infrastructures, including its active involvement in the Einstein Telescope project and to strengthen bilateral collaboration with Sweden in this domain.
The workshop is organised with the involvement of Augusto Marcelli, an Honorary Member of SINAPSE. Veronica Lattanzi, Board Member of SINAPSE and Chair of the Sustainability and Partnerships Commission, will participate in roundtable discussions, contributing a perspective on European Research Infrastructures and supporting the strengthening of Italy–Sweden collaboration in this field.
